GUA SHA MUSCLE THERAPY
Gua Sha is a healing therapy which utilizes instruments to detect scar tissue, or “knots” in muscles. Over time, scar tissue or “knots” develop due to constant stress to the area, overuse, car accidents, or injuries. Specialized instruments break down the scar tissue adhesions, which decreases overall pain, and increases range of motion.
There are numerous benefits to Gua Sha. The patient generally experiences a reduction in stiffness and pain, and increased mobility. The movement of fluids and nutrients are carried to the tissues while metabolic wastes are removed, restoring normal processes.
Common conditions treated include chronic muscle pain, fibromyalgia, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff tendinitis, achilles tendinitis, golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, headaches, and many musculoskeletal conditions.
